006: A Dangerous Mission! Journey to the Land of Waves!
Tired of doing simple D-rank missions, Naruto complains
to the Hokage and asks for better ones. The Hokage gives in and assigns
Team Kakashi a C-rank mission to escort a client to the Land of Waves.
The client is Tazuna, a drunken old man who questions
Naruto and his teammates ability to do their job properly.
Kakashi assures him he’ll be safe and they set off for the Land
of Waves.
While en route, they are ambushed by two ninjas from the
Hidden Mist. Naruto freezes in fear and has to have Sasuke save
him. Kakashi finishes off the enemy ninjas and asks Tazuna
to explain why he is being targeted.
It’s revealed that business in the Land of Waves is
being taken over by a criminal named Gato. He is targeting Tazuna
because the bridge he will be building will connect the Waves Country
to the mainland and cut in on his profits.
Because Naruto was injured by a poisoned weapon during
the fight, Kakashi suggests they turn back to get him treated.
Not wanting to slow down the team, Naruto plunges a kunai into his
wound to draw out the poisoned blood. He pledges on the pain that
he will not be back down from danger again.
