 Prev | Next Episode 001: Enter: Naruto Uzumaki!  Introducing Naruto Uzumaki, a rambunctious ninja-in-training who enjoys pulling off pranks as a way to get attention. Naruto’s hometown, Konoha, the Hidden Village in the Leaf, is a shinobi village where young children can train to be trained in the skills of the ninja at the Ninja Academy. Naruto has been an orphan since he was a baby, but for some reason the adults of the town have ostracized him. Iruka Umino, Naruto’s instructor, understands Naruto’s need for attention because like him, Iruka was also orphaned at a young age. He also respects Naruto’s dream to becom Hokage of their village one day. But despite his enthusiasm, Naruto has failed to graduate from the Ninja Academy for the third year in a row.   Mizuki, another instructor at the Academy, approaches Naruto with information about a secret scroll that contains a forbidden jutsu that could help him pass the ninja exams. Naruto steals the scroll and learns a special technique known as the Shadow Clone jutsu. But Naruto had been tricked by Mizuki who wanted to scroll for himself and planned to use Naruto as a scapegoat. Mizuki reveals to Naruto about the monster known as the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox Kyuubi sealed in him - the reason why he is despised by the townspeople.   Iruka discovers Mizuki’s plot and protects Naruto when Mizuki attacks. Iruka is seriously injured in the fight, but it is Naruto who steps up to protect his teacher and friend. Using his newly learned Shadow Clone technique, Naruto makes hundreds of copies of himself and beats up Mizuki.   |
